Terrorists and Gun Laws

Does anyone else see the similarity between the naiveté exhibited in President Obama's most recent "achievement", the Terrorist Summit, and anti-gun laws.  Just as with the gun laws which have limited impact on criminals with guns, the just-completed summit ignores the major sources of terrorism.  For example:

“The summit’s purported accomplishment is a nonbinding communiqué that largely restates current policy,” said Arizona Senator Jon Kyl, the chamber’s second-ranking Republican. “The greatest threat of nuclear proliferation and terrorism comes from Iran, which has for years supported terrorists and is growing closer and closer to having a nuclear weapons capability.” (Source: Business Week)

Blindly we cheer when told of the compliance of Canada or the Ukraine to commitments that do not deal with the real nuclear risk in the world.  Are we marginally safer? Are we fooling ourselves about the real risks of nuclear terrorism?  I suggest the answer to both questions is the same.
